Characteristics and main uses

CuBe2 (C17200) is one of the highest-strength copper alloys available after age hardening, while maintaining excellent electrical and thermal conductivity.

Its excellent formability in the solution-treated condition allows the manufacturing of complex components prior to aging, providing an outstanding balance of strength, elasticity and fatigue resistance.

After hardening treatment, CuBe2 can achieve mechanical strengths above 1400 MPa, combined with excellent stress relaxation resistance and dimensional stability.

This alloy is particularly suitable for precision components requiring a high combination of conductivity, mechanical strength and long-term reliability.

Main uses

Typical applications include watch springs, electronic connector components, electromagnetic shielding gaskets, pressure sensor, precision electrical contacts, computer processor socket contacts and highly stressed technical components.

Health and Safety

Machining, grinding, polishing or any operation generating dust or fumes from beryllium-containing alloys requires appropriate protective measures.

Applicable regulations regarding beryllium exposure must be followed. Please refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before handling or processing the material.
