Characteristics and main uses

Pfinodal’s alloys are mainly made of copper, nickel and tin Cu Ni15 Sn8. This alloy is produced by powder metallurgy, delivered in the form of strips and wires or thin sheets. It offers a set of properties which constitute ideal factors for the production of a large number of parts, used in the most varied fields: electronics, watchmaking, eyewear, etc. A simple heat treatment of tempering makes it possible to obtain by hardening, due to the Spinodal decomposition, very high mechanical characteristics. Comments on heat treatments

Pfinodal can be delivered with significant deformation possibilities (good bendability), and acquire very high mechanical characteristics after heat treatments. It presents after these treatments, a remarkable dimensional stability it presents a hardness exceeding 400 HV. It has very good resistance to hot relaxation unalterable on contact, it offers good resistance to corrosion. It has stable electrical conductivity in a temperature range of -150 to + 250 ° C. It has good coatability and weldability.
