Characteristics and main uses
CuZn42 PNA 378 is a brass alloy with approximately 42% zinc, offering good mechanical properties. This brass is a two-phase alloy with around 50% hard and brittle beta phase, which enables chips to be broken during machining. This alloy is a good alternative to leaded brass. The addition of Fe iron to the composition, compared with CuZn42 and PNA380, reduces grain size. PNA 378 has a very low lead content, making the alloy suitable for REACH-compliant jewelry applications.
