Characteristics and main uses
CuZn5 is a reinforced copper alloy in solid solution containing 5% zinc (brass). The color is similar to copper, as is its corrosion resistance. CuZn5 has very good cold formability and is suitable for bending, stamping and other cold forming processes. The alloy can be welded, brazed or soldered. CuZn5 is not as susceptible to stress corrosion cracking as alloys with a higher zinc content. Relaxation properties are excellent up to temperatures of 150°C.
